Fall 2012 Designer Sneakers: Stylish kicks with wedge heels & more!

Let's ignore the office wardrobe for a moment here, and indulge in casual and fun trend for Fall 2012.



Designer sneakers have been popular among the boys for quite some time, and it's now time for the girls to enjoy their own version of the trend - think a little more fashion forward, and definitely higher heeled than the boys! Stylish athletic shoes might not be a new item, but for years names like Nike and Adidas have dominated the playing field (so to speak). Over time, designers started to branch out - Stella McCartney launched her own collection of sportswear (tennis, yoga & more), and shoe designers gave us some interesting new styles and designs. Who can forget Victoria Beckham throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game in wedge sneakers?

The trend really picked up speed with Isabel Marant sneakers - the Bekett is both edgy and cool, and more practical than the girlie version worn by Victoria. And this season, the choices are even more varied with more designers throwing their shoes in the ring! There are an assortment of colours, fabrics and effects - for the more grown-up among us, choose a subtle wedge heel in leather or suede with a focus on softer colours (or basic black), or a high end label that oozes quality and style (Jimmy Choo or Brian Atwood). Don't shy away from glitter or studs, they add glam to the sneaker. For the busy girl on the go, labels like Jeffrey Campbell and Ash offer a terrific selection in a more affordable price range.
