The menswear trend is key this season, so you had to know that shoes weren't far behind! And if you have noticed anything about trends in shoes and boots, you know the heels have become higher and more dramatic every season... and as much as they look fabulous, they are not particularly practical. Well, now you have a chance to add something that is stylish and comfortable to your wardrobe!

The roots of the Brogues shoe goes back to Scotland and Ireland, and it might be hard to believe, but those signature perforations were designed so the water could drain from the shoe when crossing wet terrain or a bog! The irony isn't lost today as many of us wouldn't even consider wearing our best shoes in the rain! And just to clarify, Oxfords are actually a type of Brogue (it's just a style of closure), and I'm using the words interchangably here.
The style is menswear-inspired for sure, and if you work in an office, this is a fabulous trend for you! Wear them with smart trousers and a crisp white shirt (jacket optional) for a super professional look.. you will also have extra purpose in your step (mainly because it's so easy to walk in them!). There are also brogues and oxfords with heels - more delicate than chunky, like Manolo Blahnik's Catia suede colorblock lace up oxford. These would look terrific with simple grey dress, or how about black skirt and berry blouse? You don't have to shy away from color combinations this season - feel free to create your own colorblock effect with two-tone Brogues! Browse more Brogues online.
