Following shoes trend this past couple of seasons has been pretty straightforward, as it seems anything goes!
And the concept of "statement shoes" continues to make even more of a statement, especially when you look at runway collections like Versace, who has produced some of the most magnificent footwear imaginable - check out the Art of Shoes to see some shoe magic.
Peep toe ankle boots are not new, but they have become increasingly popular.. and are now considered mainstream! What started out as a runway/celebrity look has become a staple for Fall/Winter 2010 - and the new twist on peep-toe is the "cut out ankle bootie". In keeping with the current statement shoe concept, these are edgy and fun, and very chic! Wear them with your basics, to add a pop to your look (fabulous with skinny jeans and casual tee), or for your more formal events, pair them with a simple draped black jersey dress.
Just last month, Alexa Chung was spotted at Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2010, attending the coveted Chanel show, and of course she was wearing Chanel. But what caused a major buzz was her choice of footwear! She was wearing clogs.. yes, those retro chunky studded shoes with wooden heels. Except Alexa had herself a pair of Chanel clogs, the same ones seen on the runway back in October. In fact, the dress she wore to the show was paired with clogs on the runway.
One of the strongest trends for the new Spring 2010 season is color-related... or lack thereof! Neutral has made a BIG comeback this season, and you can update any item in your wardrobe with a barely-there shade: delicate dresses, tribal handbags, safari chic, even jewellery has gone natural.
This trend is perfectly suited to the fashionista who wants something a little unique! These are dynamite ankle boots (or short boots) with must-have hardware, mainly studded accents. While over-the-knee boots are super hot, they just might not be for everyone.. you need to have the right place & time to wear OTK, and that might not be every day.
Well Dorothy may not be in Kansas anymore, but we sure are interested in her pretty red shoes this season! Check out the fabulous assortment of red shoes & handbags below.
If you're looking to add a new kick to your wardrobe this fall, this trend has your name on it. While we started to see over the knee boots last season, they have become a VERY major trend for the new season - they even have their own initials, "OTK" boots. And now that new season products have started to arrive in your fav online stores, there is quite a selection to choose from.
There are three distinct looks for OTK, and which one you choose largely depends on your current lifestyle.
The Glamazon - all the major shoe designers have come up with some pretty fabulous over-the-top over-the-knee boots. The likes of Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo (among others) offer up a number of sophisticated choices - since the look is glamour, wear these with shift dresses and opaque tights. Anything feminine and stylish. Beyonce & Rihanna come to mind.
