He is actually an Irish born milliner who studied journalism at the National College of Art and design in Dublin, and became famous for designing hats seen on the couture runway for Alexander McQueen, Givenchy and even Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel.

Awarded British Accessory Designer of the year five times at the British Fashion Awards, he was also awarded an honorary OBE in 2007, for services to the British Fashion Industry.
And just like Alexander McQueen, Treacy's career as a milliner was given a major boost by Isabella Blow, the former editor of Tatler, who wore many of his unique and spectacular creations.
