Pleats Fashion Trend 2012: Maxi dresses, blouses, mini skirts & more shopping the trend

The pleated trend is a sharp new season look for day, night, office, casual and everything in between! And while you might think it's normally reserved for skirts, these pleats come in all shapes and sizes.. from the traditional razor sharp accordion style, wider pleats found on tops and dresses, and even pleated sleeves that are ladylike and boho at the same time.

When it comes to colours, you can choose bright and vibrant shades like yellow and orange, or go for neutrals like blush and cream. And this is also a great way to up your fashionista quotient by combining two trends in one look - how about a colour block dress with pleats..? It's neat and chic. Maxi dresses and skirts have been given a lift with pleats as well - the dresses are easy to wear, but if you want to wear a new maxi skirt pair it with something very simple up top, a tee or tank will do nicely.
