Latest Denim Trend: Glitter jeans, waxed & textured denim for Holiday 2012

With holiday season right around the corner it's time for a trend that is fun and festive, but can also be casual or a little formal! This summer, jeans took on a trend of their own, with an assortment of colours and prints (mostly floral), and jeans continue to make a statement with textures and embellishment that might surprise you.



First, we have glitter jeans.. shiny textures in metallic shades of silver and gold, even copper and red. You can make a bold statement, and pair them with a sheer blouse, or neat asymmetric top, but glitter (or embellished) jeans can also be toned down - make your look more casual with a simple tee and platform ankle boots. The styling  depends on the event.. they are indeed as flexible as your regular jeans.

The second type of denim is waxed.. a slick coating added to the denim fabric that gives them a waxy finish. Again, you can wear these both day and night, either dressed up down. And if you don't have a pair of black jeans in your closet, a black waxed jean will fit the bill perfectly. They have the same look of leather leggings (slick and a little forward), but you will feel very comfortable, as they still are jeans after all (it's just waxed coating on the outside). If you already have a favourite jean of choice (J Brand 901s here!), simply pick up a textured pair in the exact same size, and you're ready for the new season - it's that easy!
