Fall 2011 Handbag Trends: Smooth Geometry - structured & polished for the new season

It's time for a look at new Handbag Trends for the Fall/Winter 2011 season, and if you're a fan of classic elegance, keep reading...You won't find edgy hardware or elaborate detailing here, instead you will find quality polished leather in an assortment of structured shapes. The key word here is geometric - square or rectangular handbags that actually keep their shape when you put them down. And when you combine these shapes with smooth leather, you have added an instant classic to your closet. Hardware may go in and out of style, but classic elegance is timeless!
There are an assortment of colours to choose from this season - there is classic black (of course!), but you may want to consider rich camel shades, dramatic dark blues (midnight and navy), or even two tone handbags. We have some new labels to covet this season as well - Jason Wu debuted shoes & handbags during Spring 2011 Fashion Week (his new season Miss Wu tote is to sigh for!), and Zac Posen launched his first collection of Z Spoke handbags this spring as well. This camel quilted carry-all is gorgeous.
This handbag trend will give your work wardrobe (dresses and suits) an instant style lift - after all, the look is reminiscent of the days when Jackie Kennedy and Grace Kelly carried their smooth polished Hermes handbags. And it doesn't get any more classic than that!
