Lace is a trend we have covered on the site a few times already, and it's great to see it continue for the Fall/Winter 2011 season. And when you take a look at designer collections for Resort 2012, it's safe to say that there is even more lace in your future!The biggest surprise about this new version of the lace trend is the sheer variety of looks available - check out the selection below for a wide assortment of styles, there is something for everyone. Whether your personal style is edgy, romantic, or even boho, you will find something that suits. And while this tends to be an evening/weekend trend, if you want to wear lace during the day, stick with ivory/cream, or lace in a feminine bright colour.
When we first saw this trend, it was all about dramatic black lace.. and when it seemed like it had run it's course, it took a romantic twist this summer. Dolce & Gabbana ruled the runway with a collection of lace dresses that received more celebrity wear than we could have imagined. Jessica Alba, Cat Deeley, Katy Perry, Leslie Mann and even Gossip Girl style icon Blake Lively were all snapped in the collection. Then Kate Middleton stepped off the plane in Canada in that Erdem blue lace dress, and lace took another turn!
This season you can still wear edgy black lace (no need to put those pieces away), but you may want to consider adding romantic cream lace, or for the fashionista, this season is all about bright colourful lace - did you see Emma Stone in that neon green Dolce & Gabbana dress on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno?. You can also embrace your inner bohemian with embroidery-style pieces like Elizabeth & James Delphine lace top. See how versatile lace can be?
