You can call this bordeaux, or burgundy, maroon, even wine or merlot.. no matter what the name, it's easy to recognize as a deep dark red shade with a touch of brown. It's also a terrific color to add to your wardrobe for the new season!As I've often said before, a new color is often the easiest way to update your look. For the office, just add a couple of maroon dresses to your rotation - whether it's a draped silk jersey, or crepe wool blend with more structure and shape. Just keep in mind that clean lines are important, so the less fuss the better (which also makes it easier to wear!).
You can also add some layering pieces in bordeaux to your wardrobe - an item jacket, or casual knit to wear with skinny black pants and statement boots. These pieces can also be paired with jeans on the weekend.
If accessories are your thing right now, consider a burgundy boot or handbag.. they will look great with anything in black, cream or even grey. Burgundy and grey also happens to be a very sohisticated combination, and will impress in the workplace.
Last but not least, this color is a gorgeous evening option, all you need to do is add a splash of gold to complete the new look!
