We already covered the importance of blouses this season, but it's time to fine tune the trend just a little, and focus on the Tie-Neck blouse (or Pussy Bow Blouse as it's also known).
You won't find a trend that is better suited for the office - elegant prints, bold colours, monochrome black & white, you can wear any (and every) one of these with crisp trousers or pencil skirts. It does feel a little like a throwback to the 1960s, and yes, you have seen tie-neck blouses on both Peggy Olson and the very-curvy Joan on 'Mad Men'. This season you can play with a menswear-inspired look, like Evan Rachel Wood, who wore a leopard print tie-neck blouse on Live with Regis & Kelly on Monday.
These blouses can also transition from day to night - just replace your wool trousers with skinny jeans, and put on your favourite statement ankle boots. There's something about this look in the evening that will project the good girl who can be a little bad!

There has always been a place in your wardrobe for plaid and tartan, and now that the regular school and work routine has been resumed, the cooler weather means those winter wools are starting to look very attractive. But it's time to put aside any pre-conceived notion you may have had about plaid, it's a very versatile print this season, and you can just as easily find yourself in a plaid silk dress in the evening, as wrapped up in a plaid scarf to keep warm.
Can your current plaid wool coat keep you warm? Sure it can.. but it's time to consider a fabulous plaid print dress for your next evening event. And are plaid scarves still practical? Yes, very... but unusual shaped plaid skirts are both practical and stylish!
This happens to be a second (and updated) look at the 'Mad for Plaid' trend as there are some fabulous new online arrivals that continue to show off this trend perfectly. Silk tops, shift dresses, and even elegant silk blouses join the ranks of plaid jackets and capes to help you transition into the cooler weather.
For the office,

Our look at Fall fashion continues with a trend that suits both day and night, but today the focus is on the workplace! If you work in an office, you know there are some constraints - the fact that mini skirts and one shoulder dresses are in style really don't hep your work wardrobe. What you need are combined looks that are fresh, stylish and elegant.. while maintaining that all-important professional image.
This is where beige and black comes in.. color blocking is a new season trend, soft nudes & neutral are key right now, and you can never have too much basic black. All you need to do it combine a few classic pieces with this trend in mind.
If you have a favorite black day dress, give it an update with beige ankle boots and a beige jacket. Or if you already have something neutral in your wardrobe, give it a kick with black patent shoes &

It's time for more Fall fashion trends, and since the flip-flops and sandals have been put away, how about some fabulous pumps (and booties) for the new season?
Animal print continues to be a key trend this season, and if you're looking for a new idea to get the look, leopard print pumps are the perfect solution. It's totally fine if you don't want to commit to head-to-toe leopard, it's not for everyone, but that doesn't mean you have to let this trend pass you by!
There is something for everyone in the selection below - in an assortment of styles and price ranges. Fashionistas will have to have Christian Louboutin, Brian Atwood or Charlotte Olympia (Polly pump shown here). Those who love a classic look can choose a more subtle Manolo Blahnik pump, or a lower kitten heel. And the new fashionista will get their fix with Steve Madden and Sam Edelman, who offer a terrific selection of statement leopard print shoes in a lower price range. If you're hooked on the

You can call this bordeaux, or burgundy, maroon, even wine or merlot.. no matter what the name, it's easy to recognize as a deep dark red shade with a touch of brown. It's also a terrific color to add to your wardrobe for the new season!
As I've often said before, a new color is often the easiest way to update your look. For the office, just add a couple of maroon dresses to your rotation - whether it's a draped silk jersey, or crepe wool blend with more structure and shape. Just keep in mind that clean lines are important, so the less fuss the better (which also makes it easier to wear!).
You can also add some layering pieces in bordeaux to your wardrobe - an item jacket, or casual knit to wear with skinny black pants and statement boots. These pieces can also be paired with jeans on the weekend.
If accessories are your thing right now, consider a burgundy boot or handbag.. they will look great with anything in black, cream
