Karl Lagerfeld's latest couture collection was all about the blues.. you could call it a "Rhapsody in Blue", as he staged the runway show in a very unique and rather magnificnet setting - the show took place in the inside of a plane in the Grand Palais!
As the master of haute couture, Karl once again managed to combine the timelessness of Chanel (elegant suits and classic shapes), with fresh new luxurious monochrome statements, all in blue. Oversized 50s inspired boat neck collars on dresses, jacket and coats, and a mixture of fabrics - tweed dusted with crystals, shimmer and shine, billowing sleeves and long skirts.
This was simple in shape but stunning in craftsmanship - I'm sure we will see some of these dresses on the red carpet, but this collection actually seemed better suited for the Parisian couture set.
