This collection took a joyful look at Southern Italy, with colorful and oversized bright prints that included tomatoes, peppers and even eggplant. Lush but almost rustic in nature, the collection had a 50s feel to it, from the elegant textured suiting to full skirts and bare midriffs. But a Dolce & Gabbana collection wouldn't be complete without sexy black lace - the evening mesh, colorful crystals and sparkling hotpants still managed to look ladylike and elegant.
Trends to watch for in Spring/Summer 2012: bold colourful prints, a continued love affair with shapes from the 1950s (pre-Mad Men era), more black lace, and natural embellishments (crystals, beads & stones).
