2012 Golden Globe Awards - Red Carpet TrendThe red carpet at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards was full of shades of blush, but the 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards was all about white! Shades of cream, ivory, white, in an assortment of styles - strapless, sparkling, draped, simple, or even with gold accents.
Rose Byrne gave us the most unique look of the night, she chose a stunning cream embellished jumpsuit by Elie Saab. This was from his Fall/Winter 2009 Haute Couture collection, and the intricate crystal and beading details were stunning. With a plunging neckline and razor sharp bob, Rose made this fashion statement all her own. It was a risk, but it most definitely paid off!
Zoe Saldana also chose white haute couture on the red carpet, in an unusual dress by Givenchy.. it had a lot going on, from a tank underneath, to silver embellished neckline, and plenty of twinkle as she moved. This dress was from Spring/Summer 2012 Haute Couture, which means it was just shown at Paris Fashion Week less than 10 days ago!
Lots more chose white or cream - Katrina Bowden went strapless in her Amsale gown, Judy Greer and Gretchen Mol chose short sleeves (in Collette Dinnigan and L'Wren Scott, respectively), and Viola Davis looked elegant and was classic in Marchesa. Julianna Margulies in Calvin Klein Collection and Kristin Wiig (in Balenciaga) wore off-white that was nearly stone colour, and Berenice Bejo looked terrific in a silvery white dress by Ralph Lauren.
