Spot: Carey Mulligan in Prada at the 2012 Met Gala - celebrating the opening of Schiaparelli and Prada 'Impossible Conversations' at the Costume Institute, held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art New York City.

Carey Mulligan is both a newlywed and a co-chair of the 2012 Costume Instutue Gala.. it's a pretty good few weeks for the lovely actress! She wore Prada to the event, a stunning halter dress in gold & silver ombre paillettes.

This is a dress that isn't easily forgotten, it has that Prada minimalist shape, but the ombre all-over embellishment is exquisite - there's a structure that you don't normally see with paillettes, and a unique fish scale effect. Elegant high halter neck, wasp waist and slight asymmetric hem, there isn't anything else to say here - she was definitely one of the best dressed on the red carpet. Sparkling and quite spectacular.
