Blue Trend: Michelle Williams in Jason Wu, Sofia Vergara Vera Wang, Tilda Swinton & more blue @ 2012 Golden Globe Awards
Spot: Blue dresses as seen on Michelle Williams, Tilda Swinton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sofia Vergara & more at The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 15th, 2012.If you had to pick one of the colours that dominated the red carpet at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards, it would have to be blue. From lighter shades of sapphire blue to dark and dramatic midnight blue (my personal favourite) - no one looked better than Michelle Williams in her fabulous burnout velvet gown by Jason Wu. She won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for her potrayal of Marilyn Monroe, and I loved the fact she was sitting with Busy Phillips (anyone remember a little show called 'Dawson's Creek'..?).
Sarah Michelle Gellar made a splash on the red carpet - and by splash, I mean the paint splatter effect of her white & blue ballgown by Monique Lhuillier. From the Spring/Summer 2012 runway, it was a bold choice, not my favourite, but I liked the ponytail.
Tilda Swinton absolutely rocked her Haider Ackermann ensemble, she has a fabulous original style and personality (did you know she doesn't own a TV??). Kelly Osbourne was co-hosting coverage for E! with Ross Matthews, and you couldn't see too much of her blue dress with peaked shoulders by Zac Posen on screen. From the Pre-Fall 2012, it also had the very-popular fishtail hem. Have to say, I don't like her purple-gray hair colour.. time for a change.
More shades of blue included Sofia Vergara looking va va voom (as usual) in Vera Wang, Berenice Bejo in Gucci, Freida Pinto in Prada, Madeline Stowe in Elizabeth McGovern in black and blue, and Laura Linney in J. Mendel. Fabulous gallery below!
