Spot: Roland Mouret & Lanvin green & red dresses as seen on Selma Blair at the 68th Venice Film Festival - Day 5 - Dark Horse Photocall & Premiere.
It seems like just yesterday that Selma Blair gave birth to her baby boy... it was only five weeks ago, and she is already out & about on the red carpet! Selma was in Venice for the photocall and red carpet premiere of 'Dark Horse', her upcomng romantic drama. I don't know too much about this one, but I really really hope we see Selma in another 'Hellraiser' film. Those were the best!
For the 'Dark Horse' photocall, Selma wore an emerald green dress by Roland Mouret, with gathering and pleats and short draped sleeves. It's called the Wemmick dress (all Roland Mouret dresses have names!), and you can buy it online at Net-A-Porter. For UK/International readers, click here for available sizes.. Spot: Elie Saab pale pink cap sleeve backless gown as seen on Jessica Chastain at the 68th Venice Film Festival - Day 5 - Wilde Salome premiere.
Back to the Venice Film Festival, Jessica Chastain is fast turning into a red carpet darling.. and it also helps that she has had so many premieres this year! This is one busy actress.. and I can't wait to see her in The Debt.
She was in Venice for the premiere of Wilde Salome, her new film with Al Pacino. This is an unusual documentary directed by Pacino about his obsession with the Oscar Wilde play - the making of a film about the play, and the play itself (if it sounds confusing that's because it is!). What's notable about this film is that Jessica Chastain played the title role in the production long before she was known. She was cast in the stage version back in 2006.. and it has taken 5 years to release this project.
I know fashion is

Spot: Marios Schwab and Erdem dresses as seen on Marisa Tomei at the 68th Venice Film Festival - 'Ides of March' & 'W.E.' Premieres.
Catching up on other notable red carpet appearances at the 68th Venice Film Festival, Marisa Tomei looked fabulous in Preen at the photocall for 'The Ides of March', but check her out on the red carpet!
At the premiere of 'The Ides of March', the George Clooney-directed film that opened the festival, she looked gorgeous in a mustard yellow gown by Marios Schwab. From the Fall/Winter 2011 runway, my favourite part of this whole look are the pearls pulled through the bodice. Fantastic!
And the following day, she was snapped at the premiere of Madonna's "W.E." in a print we would recognize anywhere! She joins the growing list of celebs who have been wearing those dramatic dark floral prints by Erdem (seems to be a favourite for talk show appearances!). Marisa is wearing a smart pencil dress in a

Spot: Mary Katrantzou & Valentino Haute Couture dresses as seen on Keira Knightley at the 68th Venice Film Festival - Day 2 - 'A Dangerous Method' Photocall & Premiere.
What a treat to see Keira Knightley at the Venice Film Festival, and in case you missed it, I posted her hairstyles first! She unveiled a new sleek gorgeous asymmetric bob at the photocall 'A Dangerous Method', and I knew a few folks would want to see the close-up photos...
For the photocall, Keira chose a graphic print - and I'm loving this trend of wearing dresses you can find online at the film festival! This is one of many fabulous grahic prints by Mary Katrantzou, from Fall/Winter 2011, the closest print online is the multi coloured Lily Pond Silk Dress found at Matches Fashion. I've put together more from the collection below - including the gorgeous scarves found at Net-A-Porter!
And what a fabulous red carpet appearance for the evening

Shopping Spot: Buy Stella McCartney cream & black scuba dress online as seen on Kate Winslet at the 68th Venice Film Festival - Day 3 - 'Mildred Pierce' premiere.
Kate Winslet wore Stella McCartney to the premiere of 'Mildred Pierce' at the... wait a sec, where have I heard that before..?? Oh yeaaah, that was here.. when she wore Stella McCartney to the New York premiere of 'Mildred Pierce' back in March! This is deja vu.. but she still gets two thumbs up..
Kate continued to make a strong "I am woman" statement at the Venice Film Festival, choosing another minimalist figure-hugging style. She is oooozing confidence these days, which I love. And the hairstyle.. she went from a futuristic ponytail

Spot: Prada pale pink drop waist gown online as seen on Gwyneth Paltrow from The 68th Venice Film Festival - Day 4 - Contagion - Premiere
On the subject of cool blondes, how about Gwyneth Paltrow on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival..? The actress looked gorgeous in a pale pink drop waist gown that looks very much like Valentino Haute Couture, a gown modified from the Fall/Winter 2010 runway. If you look at the back of the dress, the bow is gorgeous... and well, I'm suprised to see a Prada looking very much the Valentino couture gown shown below!
Gwyneth attended the premiere of her new film 'Contagion'... and as much as I love Gwynnie (and some of the cast), it's not a film on my to-see list. I'm just not in the mood for a gritty disaster movie.. the ol' virus spreads 'round the world, killing everyone in its path storyline. I'm sure it's a good movie though..

Spot: Elie Saab & Atelier Versace as seen on Abbie Cornish at the 68th Venice Film Festival, Day 2 - 'W.E.' - Photocall & Premiere
Back to the Venice Film Festival, the lovely Abbie Cornish was in attendance for the photocall and premiere of "W.E." This is the Madonna-directed film about Wallis Simpson, but keep in mind this is more than just the story of Edward & Mrs. Simpson - it is a two-tiered drama that covers a contemporary romance between a married woman and Russian security guard. And that's where Abbie Cornish comes in! She plays the modern-day Wally Winthrop.
Abbie went for dark & dramatic looks in Venice - for the photocall, she stepped off the boat (as you do in Venice!) in a structured cap-sleeve dress by Elie Saab. This is
