More from the BET Awards, and it was actually a bit surprising to see not one, but two Herve Leger dress on the red/green carpet. They were both edgy, both in neutral shades, but not actually from the same season.

Hilary Swank made a rare red carpet appearance in Toronto.. unrelated to the Toronto Film Festival, and she wasn't even the main event!
I'm talking about the IIFA 2011 Awards, of course, the International India Film Academy gala that was held in North America for the very first time this year! So it's understandable that the paparazzi focus was on all the Bollywood stars - Hilary was there to present an award (not receive anything), and it's great to see a cultural city like Toronto embrace this international event.

How about a battle of major Gucci dresses today..? I'm kidding, there's not "battle" here, but I do find it interesting to see two major dresses from Gucci Fall/Winter 2011 collection being worn worlds apart! Rsei Huntington-Whiteley appeared on the very green carpet of the Moscow Film Festival wearing a stunning asymmetric dress with statement floral shoulder and sheer skirt over hotpants.
And the next morning, Florence Welch rocked Good Morning America's Summer Concert series in Central Park wearing a luscious berry colour one sleeve chiffon dress with statement floral accents. And the same sheer skirt over hotpants. Florence has an advantage when it comes to this collection as apparently she was one of designer Frida Giannini mentioned

I haven't heard too much about this film, it premiered at Sundance, has appeared on video on demand, but still will have a limited cinema run in July. Reminds me of that Eva Mendes film.. premiered in 2010, but was still being promoted in April 2011.

Another look we know and love, and in case you missed it, Herve Leger remains at the top the Designer Charts! There are just so many consistent sightings of celebrities these bandage dresses, and while I know fashion continues to move forward, when a dress is THIS flattering, why change..? Although it has been nice to see the label movie forward with interesting fabrics & embellishments (that rubber band dress, silver rings seen on Jennifer Lopez, and Fergie's bondage dress!).

OK, I'm guessing there was a Valentino event held at the Gramercy Hotel last night in New York City, if these two spots are anything to go by! It would have been a rather random occurence to see both Lily Rabe (Broadway actress and daughter of the late Jill Clayburgh) and Carey Mulligan, snapped arriving at the hotel wearing Valentino. We'll know soon enough, but I wanted to get the dresses 'out there'. Update: Carey was attending the Lincoln Center Institute's Junior Spring Benefit.
Lily wore a rather major dress that you can actually buy online over at Net-A-Porter - a red ruffled red silk chiffon dress with long sleeves, raw edged leather ruffles and on-trend thigh high front split! She may not have won the Tony on Sunday night, but I'm digging her fashion as one to watch.
