Both Michelle Williams and Sofia Coppola attended the 63rd National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Gala at Cipriani - and Sofia was actually there to collect an award! She received a Special Achievment Award for writing, directing, and producing 'Somewhere'.
Fashion-wise, you know these two will stick to more minimalist looks - Michelle is totally reminding me of Carey Mulligan these days, have you noticed? They both favour the less-is-more approach, and they are both sporting light blonde short bobs. This is a very distinctive look, and they both work it well - really sets them apart.
For the NBR Motion Pictures Gala Michelle chose Oscar de la Renta Spring/Summer 2011, a delicate embroidered black lace & nude dress, the Mad Men-inspired 1950s tea-length style that is all the rage right now. And Sofia embraced her Italian roots with Gucci - a black feathered dress that yes, we saw on Kylie Minogue at the premiere of 'The Kid' back in September!
