I was browsing some new online arrivals, and how about this major sparkler? French actress Ludivine Sagnier looked bright and very glam in a sequin and lace dress by Elie Saab to the European Film Awards back in December. From Resort 2012, it just arrived online at Boutique 1.

Elie Saab has been dominating the red carpet in the past couple of years, and it is one ofa few labels that you can buy online that continue to surprise (and amaze!) me. Boutique 1 has three physical stores - two in Dubai and one in Beirut, Lebanon, and they carry the most wonderful selection of Elie Saab dresses online you can imagine! Hilary Swank in Elie Saab sequin dress @ IIFA 2011 Toronto Awards Gala - lovely berry colour!


Spot: Elie Saab berry sequin textured gown as seen on Hilary Swank at the International India Film Academy - IIFA 2011 Toronto Awards Gala at Rogers Centre on June 25th.

Hilary Swank made a rare red carpet appearance in Toronto.. unrelated to the Toronto Film Festival,  and she wasn't even the main event!

I'm talking about the IIFA 2011 Awards, of course, the International India Film Academy gala that was held in North America for the very first time this year! So it's understandable that the paparazzi focus was on all the Bollywood stars - Hilary was there to present an award (not receive anything), and it's great to see a cultural city like Toronto embrace this international event.

She looked effortlessly glam in a gorgeous berry sequin (and textured) dress by Elie Saab. I love her hairstyle,

Catherine Zeta Jones in Elie Saab red sparkling dress @ 2011 Tony Awards - red hot glamour!


Spot: Elie Saab red beaded dress as seen on Catherine Zeta Jones at the 65th Annual Tony Awards, held at the Beacon Theatre on June 12th.

Catherine Zeta Jones made a welcome return to the Broadway stage, even if it was only at the Beacon Theatre to present the Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play (to Mark Rylance in "Jerusalem"). She looked stunning as usual, in gorgeous red sparkling gown by Elie Saab.

It would have been nice to see her make a proper red carpet appearance, but she seems to have just presented the award, as I haven't seen any official photos of her in the press room (which is where the presenters &

Evan Rachel Wood in Elie Saab plum dress with thigh high slit @ 'Mildred Pierce' NY premiere - gorgeous!


Spot: Evan Rachel Wood wore Elie Saab plum dress with slit from Pre-Fall 2011 to the New York Premiere of "Mildred Pierce".

Yowza, one more dress from the New York premiere of Mildred Pierce', and check out the screen siren that is Evan Rachel Wood! This girl just keeps looking better and better every time we see her... and she certainly ramped up the va va voom factor (by the way, she has the pivotal role of Veda in the mini-series).

For the premiere, she chose to wear a dynamite rich plum colour dress by Elie Saab, from the Fall/Winter 2011 runway. Check out the thigh-high slit, it's a huge trend for the new season. It's not something I would recommend for the office, mind, but for the evening, I say go for it!

After Paris Couture Week, it was only a matter of time before we saw celebs wearing some of these magnificent dresses.. and we didn't have to wait long at all to see one of Elie Saab's rose pink confections on the red carpet!

Emily Blunt looked amazing last night at the New York premiere of 'The Adjustment Bureau', her new thriller with Matt Damon. We don't usually see Emily this often on a red carpet, but both her 2011 films have been released around the same time (the other one being 'Gnomeo and Juliet'). Always a reader fav.. and always looking lovely!

Taking a step back, it seems quite approprriate that I'm watching the Australian Open while writing this fashion piece about an  Aussie actress attending the 2011 G'Day USA Los Angeles Black Tie Gala to honor Barry Gibb, Roy Emerson and her own self!

Abbie's a good actress, and terrific Aussie ambassador, and dedicated her Excellence in Film Award to Heath Ledger (sad, it was the 3rd anniversary of his death). She was in good company with Bee Gee Barry Gibb, who is second to none for Aussie music accomplishments. Fashion aside for
