Spot: Gucci coral red long sleeve dress as seen on Eva Mendes at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival Premiere of 'Last Night' at the BMCC Theater on April 25th.I'm a little confused here, but will give it a go just the same. Eva Mendes walked the red carpet at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival for her film 'Last Night'.. and isn't this the same movie that was shown at BOTH the Toronto International Film Festival last fall and the Rome Film Festival in October, 2010? Keira Knightley is in this one too.. strangely, the film was released everywhere but the USA (until now).
Eva attended the premiere in a dramatic red flowing dress from Gucci Fall/Winter 2011.. and I want to love this look more than I do (not easy to say!). Gucci's Fall collection was the most fabulous 70s inspired retro collection in colours that popped. And we just saw Evan Rachel Wood ROCK a similar dress from the same collection (photos below as reminder). Perhaps that's my basis of comparison - Evan set the bar very high.
For me, the dress kinda overwhelms Eva.. she isn't as tall as Evan, and it also covers up her dynamite figure. Having said that, the dress itself is gorgeous.. reminds me of something Bianca Jagger would have worn to Studio 54. What do you think?
