"What?" is the word that comes to mind as I look at these photos of Madonna at the MET Costume Institute Gala tonight in New York City.

What was she thinking when she looked in the mirror, what is that thing on her head, what did she do to her hair, what is she trying to prove? It's all about "what". Please, can someone answer these questions for me? I'm sure there are some fashion folk who will talk about the brilliance of this look, and how Madonna can do no wrong, blah blah.. and while I do quite the dress (on it's own!!), the overall look is Puss n' Boots gone wrong.

My favourite look of Madonnna's was her platinum blonde phase, the sharp pin-striped suits, with flawless make up, very glam & stylish. I may have broken my cardinal rule (if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all), but really, what was she thinking? Photos below...
