The BIG PICTURE: Summer trends were dominated by dresses, floral, gladiator sandals, tunics - get ready for changes this Fall! Shoes have sprouted laces, wedges got a whole lot higher, and tunics are now belted over pants, as a throwback to the 70s.

Speaking of the 70s, paisley wil be your new pattern of choice, with print dresses & flared jeans rounding out your folksy vibe. If your personal style is a little more bohemian, add some fringe as well.

As for dresses, while romantic floral is still be a key trend, the bouquet has become much darker. Think black lace with floral prints, goth-like in appeal - if goth is not quite your style, you should still wear black with a bit of an edge. Cut corners for sharper shapes, or pick up lacy black, a softer edgy look.

Colors still prevail, with less to choose from than previous seasons. Everyone loves a lady in red, so feel free to throw on a dazzling red dress, structured shirt, or even a statement coat in this show-stopping color. Purple & magenta are fast becoming must-haves as well, and have you seen the new Prada bowling bag? Purple leather at its best!

Statement & embellishment are still current trends, and will continue through Fall/Winter 2008. Don't throw away your statement bangle & cuffs either.. and your necklaces can double as pieces of art!

Last but not least, take note of minimalist or structured shapes. Using a word from Marc Jacobs Fall collection, think "calm". Simple clean lines that evoke elegance & sophistication. The contrast should be your footwear & accessories - fantastic heels, shoes & boots with laces, and as much color & detail as you like.
